The 1st Act: One plate of Kindness

So for my first act of kindness, I established a Dastarkhan for the hard workers of our society near Korah Stop, Walton.
I had a single dish(Biryani) made for around 50+ people with our National Sherbet, Jami Shirin. From street hawkers to peddlers all were welcome at the Dastarkhan and to my surprise everyone was willing to help set it all up rather than taking their share and leaving.
Seeing people give me blessings really helped me see that the smallest act that we do can be a drastic one for others.

And so the evergreen Amal Fellowship came to an end after 3 months filled with learning and networking.
Amal has helped me bring out the leadership qualities that I didn't know existed inside of me, helped me polish my communication and presentation skills further! Investing the 3 Months into the fellowship was one of the best decisions that I have ever taken.
Last Sunday 21st February 2021 was the official last session of our batch, it was full of a mixture of emotions, we were happy, sad, and having fun at the same time. Some were happy for making such…
“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”
The past few months have gone by rather quickly, but that's what time is all about. It tends to fly by when you are enjoying it, leaving you in an awe-struck spiral of good memories. When I applied for the fellowship, I was under the impression that it would just turn out to be a dry but informative fellowship but THANK GOD! I was wrong!
The fellowship turned out to be one of the best decisions that I could have had taken, I have met very wonderful people throughout this session…

I can't even digest the fact that it's already Week 10 of the Amal Fellowship, time really flies by when you are enjoying it. To sum it all of the experiences of the fellowship in one blog would be a crime. However, there is one that has had a profound effect on me.
Back around week 8 or 7, we were assigned our mega projects based on ideas that we had given out! I got assigned to Circle 4 with four others, who have by time become good friends. When we had to start work on our project, we…
A small Recap: As we had pledged before that we will strive towards our goal of helping set a “Dastarkhawan” for 300 or more people by the end of the Mega Project. By the grace of Almighty God, we have crossed more than the halfway mark up till now and we are going strong.

(On the left, our donation appeal poster posted across our Instagram and Facebook pages)
We have been able to contact around 1000+ people through our personal and professional links with it contributing to a major role in our weekly Dastarkhawans. Our current donation for the food…

Dastarkhwan — goal is to defeat hunger and to stand against poverty protecting the dignity of people and the short term aim of this project is to reach at least 300 people before the end of the fellowship. While the long-term aim is to keep it running for as long as possible and in the meanwhile hopefully try to make an impact.
We have planned to provide food to poor people from a network of food banks which will be placed in several areas of Lahore. Instead of wasting food at homes, hotels, and events, the leftover food will be…
“My religion is humanitarianism, which is the basis of every religion in the world”
― Abdul Sattar Edhi
The great Edhi shb. was an example of extreme humulity that many people strive to achieve in their daily lives. Here at Amal Edhi Shb. is thought of highly as he should be in order to help motivate the fellows for their daily practices. For the past two weeks we are asked to collect donations for Edhi Foundation in order to face the complications that come from failures and rejections. …
“Your ‘frog’ is your biggest, most important task, the one you are most likely to procrastinate on if you don’t do something about it. It is also the one task that can have the greatest positive impact on your life and results at the moment.”
— Eat That Frog p.2
So for this week at Amal, we were tasked with a goal of overcoming procrastination and that was made possible through a quick 25 minute exercise with bunch of tasks to complete within the week!

As far the exercise goes, we had to decide on one task that we were…

1:Ask People for Help: I always was thought of myself as a problem solver on my own, but going through the course: It seems that asking others for help isn't that big of a deal. It's better to bounce ideas off of someone when you are in a fix, it helps get you in a groove for the thinking process.
1:Believe in yourself.
2:Face Challenges head on and learn from…
